Special Needs:
This committee worked closely with the playground designer in the early stages to insure that the accessibility needs of the children and adults in our community would be met and that ALL kids would be able to play side by side with equal amounts of FUN! Currently headed up by Jen Creason, a physical therapist who works with special needs children, and Lisa Seaman, an occupational therapist as well as the mom of a special needs child, these committee members sought input from parents of special needs children, a recreational therapist and other professionals who are experts in adapting play. The next step for this committee is to be present during construction to insure that the recommendations made for accessibility are met as drawn out. Unlike any other playground in Lancaster County, this playground will exceed the ADA recommendations.
